The Environment


The Books & Pads division of HAMELIN has always favoured long term development rather than short term results. It was therefore a very natural step for HAMELIN to incorporate sustainable development into all its decision-making, and signing the Global Compact with the support of the UN at the beginning of 2003.

In practical terms, our products specifications are continuously reassessed to ensure conformity with the most stringent ecological demands, from demanding the highest environmental-friendly specifications of raw materials to manufacturing processes and beyond, with waste material treatment and personnel training. Therefore HAMELIN :
  • Only uses suppliers that can guarantee traceable supplies and that have a policy for sustainable management of forest resources
  • Does not use paper made from tropical wood
  • Refuses paper made from primary forests or from wood taken from sensitive areas or areas sheltering threatened species.
